Between August and December of 1815, Cartagena de Indias endured 105 days of siege and naval blockade by Hispano-Venezuelan forces under the command of General Pablo Morillo.
The History
The city, defended by patriots and civilians, was surrounded by land and sea, cut off from food and essential supplies. Hunger, disease, and despair decimated the population. Heroism was not enough. With all provisions exhausted and hundreds dying of starvation in the streets, the last defenders were forced into exile.
Production
105 Ciudad Heroica is a vibrant, contemporary stage creation that brings together dance, folklore, circus arts, original music, and visual projections in an unprecedented immersive experience. The production required more than two years of development, driven by a creative team that merged local talent, technology, and symbolic storytelling to bring 12 unique scenic acts to life.
Inspired by the heroic spirit of Cartagena, 105 invites the audience on an emotional and artistic journey that honors Caribbean identity from a universal perspective. Featuring more than 35 performers on stage, an original score composed exclusively for the show, high-impact minimalist technology, and rigorous artistic curation, 105 immerses spectators in a visual and emotional journey that transforms the way Cartagena is experienced.
More than a show, it is a living tribute to the Caribbean, to the body as symbol, and to the city as a global stage.
Who We Are
Every Thursday, 105 Ciudad Heroica takes the stage at Hangar 105 to awaken the senses and tell—through the body and emotion—the story of a city that never surrendered.
From Cartagena to the world, our production company was born with a clear purpose: to elevate local talent to its highest expression, creating stage experiences that honor our roots while speaking a contemporary, symbolic, and universal language.
Formed by an interdisciplinary team of artists, creatives, and cultural producers, the company develops immersive scenic experiences that integrate original music, visual storytelling, and contemporary movement languages. We believe in art as a force for transformation and in Cartagena as the epicenter of a new cultural narrative.
